Things to do
Nelson County is not just about farms, although that is what we love most about it. It covers a little under 500 square miles and is home to about 15,000 people, many of whom come from families that have lived here since the 1700s.The Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway cross the county about 15 miles from our farm, and we are nestled up against the George Washington National Forest.
The outdoors activities are numerous and easy to access, but there are also more "civilized" sources of entertainment for those who prefer their nature through glass. Breweries, wineries, and a brand new whiskey distillery all give tours and tastings.There are no movie theaters, but we do have live music and theater on many weekends.
