- Holly Barton, D.V.M.: FAMACHA training
Dr. Barton was raised in Nelson County and graduated from Swarthmore College before teaching high school algebra in Brooklyn, NY. She joined Commonwealth Veterinary Clinic in Waynesboro after graduation from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, where she served as the small ruminant representative of the Food Animal Practitioner Club.

- Scott Jerrell: The Scott County Hair Sheep Association
Scott Jerrell is the Virginia Cooperative Extension agent (Agriculture and Natural Resources, Crop & Soil Sciences) for Scott County, Virginia. He has been with VCE since 2001. He holds a B.S. in Plant and Soil Sciences, and a M.S. in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Virginia Tech, respectively. Scott has served as educational advisor to the Scott County Hair Sheep Association since its inception in 2001.

- Susan Schoenian: Small Ruminant Health
Susan Schoenian is the Sheep & Goat Specialist at the Western Maryland Research & Education Center in Keedysville, Maryland. She has been with University of Maryland Extension since 1088. Susan holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Animal Science from Virginia Tech and Montana State University, respectively, and also attended The Ohio State University. She has developed The Maryland Small Ruminant Page as an on-line resource for sheep and goat management, conducts the Western Maryland Pasture-based Meat Goat Performance Test at her research facility, and raises Katahdin hair (meat) sheep on her small farm called The Baalands in Clear Spring, Maryland.
